    Workshop for translators held in Kyiv

    On October 12th, Association of Educational Development (with the help of IIIT) organized a workshop on translations. Following the contributions from Dr. Anas Al-Sheikh and other scholars, translators were cooperating to enrich their experiences by sharing ideas and skills. First of all, the problem of the terminological unity has been addressed, reflected in the perspective of creating a special dictionary for modern Islamic philosophical terms (by Dr. Mykhaylo Yakubovych). Contributions of the translators from Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia and Poland were gathered together to have a comprehensive picture of how the modern Islamic Thought and especially books published by IIIT are represented in other languages. Being conscious of cultural differences, the question for transferring the ideas remains one of the most crucial for modern translation studies, thus the workshop had been one of the most important steps to find necessary solutions.
