Dr. Amaarah DeCuir
Dr. Amaarah DeCuir holds an Ed.D. from the George Washington University in Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy Studies. She is an emerging leader in the field of Islamic Education Leadership. She has developed innovative professional development programs for teachers and school leaders of full-time and part-time Islamic schools. Dr. DeCuir completed her doctoral research as a gendered interpretation of the roles and responsibilities of women leading American Islamic schools. Amaarah has served as the principal of Al Fatih Academy, a leading Islamic school with dual-accreditation in Northern Virginia. Under her leadership, from 2008-2015, the school grew and developed into an institution with 330 students, 38 staff members, and about 200 individual families.
