The International Institute of Islamic Thought is finalizing a partnership with Indiana University Press to launch a new Journal on Education in Muslim Societies (JEMS). The Journal is being published as part of IIIT’s new initiative – Advancing Education in Muslim Societies (AEMS). We seek to plan two issues a year which will include peer reviewed research articles, commentaries from the field and book reviews. All research articles are subject to double blind review. The Journal will be launched in Indianapolis, Indiana in October 2018 at the Symposium on Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society at Indiana University. The first issue will be available in May 2019. IIIT is pleased to announce that Dr Cynthia Miller-Idriss and Dr Shariq A. Siddiqui serve as inaugural editors for the period of 2018-2021.
Dr Cynthia Miller-Idriss is Associate Dean, School of Education, American University, Washington DC & Dr Shariq A. Siddiqui is Director and Assistant Professor, Muslim Philanthropy Initiative, Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Indiana University and Executive Director, Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA).
