The IIIT Department of Publication and Translation (DPT) is the Institute’s flagship portal for addressing core intellectual, topical, and epistemological issues whose methodology and significance are relevant across time and space. Its goal is to add value and provide appropriate responses to these issues by promoting broader discourse through the creation of key works such as books and research papers. Since 1981, IIIT has published over 600 titles in English and Arabic and translated and published more than 400 titles in over 35 languages. The subjects covered are diverse, including Islamic studies, intellectual development in Islamic thought, humanities, social sciences, maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah, apostasy, parenting, and educational advancement in Muslim societies. Additionally, the ethical, faith-based principles underlying IIIT publications embody a universal moral code aimed at the overall welfare and betterment of humanity. Considering these factors, IIIT welcomes new ideas and encourages critical thinking in the creation and documentation of knowledge.

Author Guidelines
The Department of Publication and Translation at the International Institute of Islamic Thought welcomes your submission. Please send your full manuscript to publications@iiit.org. Please submit your proposal only once; we will ensure that projects are forwarded to the appropriate editor.
For more information about submissions, please contact publications@iiit.org.
Please send a book prospectus instead of a complete, full-length manuscript. This will enable us to quickly evaluate our interest in your work. Your prospectus must include the following:
- Abstract 300-500 word description of the book project;
- Full manuscript (maximum page length 300 pages);
- Another version of your manuscript for peer review (make sure to remove your name and anything that reveals your identity from the manuscript and refer to yourself as the Author);
- A table of contents;
- Your curriculum vitae or resume.
The Review Process
We will review your manuscript internally for up to three months. Please refrain from contacting press staff by phone or email before that time. If we choose to continue with your manuscript, we will send it for external review.
Our standard policy is to have manuscripts undergo double peer review. The Press contacts two or three scholars in the field to thoroughly evaluate the manuscript. This process may take some time to find the right qualified scholar who has the availability to read the entire manuscript carefully. Depending on the length of the manuscript and the scholar’s schedule, this process could take four to five months to complete.
