The Institute publishes works produced by its own research programs along with scholarly contributions from around the world. The Institute publishes works in Arabic, English, and other major languages. IIIT publications include over 400 titles, distributed in various series and topics, in addition to quarterly journals in English and Arabic.
The London office oversees the production of English Language titles as well as commissioning translations and promoting the objectives and work of the Institute both in the UK and Europe.
Types of publications:
1. Quarterly Journals
Since August 1984 IIIT has published a scholarly, refereed, quarterly journal, The American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences (AJISS), which is published jointly with the Association Of Muslim Social Scientists (AMSS) in teh United States. It is a highly reputed journal and is frequently cited by researchers in the West and in the Muslim World. The Institute has also been publishing a quarterly scholarly refereed journal in Arabic, entitled Islamiyyat al-Ma'rifah. The first issue came out in June 1995. Local journals and newsletters are also published by the IIIT in other languages.
2. Proceedings of Professional Meetings and Seminars
The Institute has organized on its own or very often jointly with other institutions, a large number of seminars on various issues of Islamic thought and its applications in specialized scholarly disciplines. The proceedings of most of these seminars and conferences organized at international, regional and local levels, were published in volumes that include the original papers as well as the discussions and recommendations.
3. Specialized Series of Publications
The Institute publishes specialized books and research, which it commissions or chooses from manuscripts presented to the Institute for publication. There are currently ten different series published in English: Islamization of Knowledge, Issues in Contemporary Islamic Thought, Research Monographs, Occasional Papers, Human Resource Development, Perspectives on Islamic Thought, Islamic Methodology, Academic Dissertations, Supplementary Social Studies Teaching Units, Islamic Law and Jurisprudence (some of these titles have been translated into other languages). There are also thirteen series published in Arabic.
